Turin sits so close to France that you can find crepe vendors on its streets. But every other Fall you can also find something from just about everywhere else on Earth at the Slow Food meetup, Terra Madre.

A trip around Valentine Park, through the hundreds of pop tents and temporary restaurants, is a trip through the cuisine of Italy and the world.

Dozens of Italian breweries showed off their wares and, like most exhibitors, offered samples.

We ended the evening on the bank of the Po, where vendors were selling food out of the caverns built into the ramparts, each vendor representing an Italian town. The arcade was packed, but the line for Pasta all’Amatriciana was by far the longest. All of the proceeds going to the eponymous village which had just been devastated by an earthquake.
