Founded in 1545 by Cosimo I de’ Medici, the Orto Botanico is a place I could live, if need be (maybe in one of the greenhouses…).

Toscani are all about the citrus, and treat their potted lemons and oranges like bonsai trees. At the villa the potted citrus were as old as the house, but were falling into ruin as B didn’t know how to prune them properly and specialists are expensive.
