Strada in Chianti, the tiny village 30 minutes south of Florence, hosts its annual Fiera, or fair, with more than enough pride and enthusiasm to rival any bigger city.


Copying the model of far larger Siena, Strada is notionally divided into five boroughs, each with color-coded shield.




Residents process in groups representing countries and regions of the world. Many charming, some perhaps not the most culturally-sensitive stereotypes, and then some…
